Careers

Graduates of this program can find employment as settlement workers with various community service agencies, government agencies, hospitals, schools, and employment agencies. They can also work as access navigators, housing support workers, or language and interpretation workers. The Community Settlement Services diploma program shares a common first year with the Social Service Worker diploma program. This allows graduates to enter the second year of the Social Service Worker program and earn two diplomas in three years, while also becoming eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Pathways into degree programs from this program include the Bachelor of Community Mental Health and Wellness, Bachelor of Community and Criminal Justice, and the Bachelor of Early Learning Program Development. Graduates may also use this diploma program to ladder into Graduate Certificate programs such as Mental Health, Addiction and Substance Use, and Management in Community Services.
