Credential: 3-Year Bachelor of Human Resources ManagementThis three-year degree integrates two co-op work terms and prepares graduates with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to meet the needs of the rapidly changing and evolving HR field.
During their course of study, students gain proficiency with industry-standard technologies and tools while developing essential skills including emotional intelligence, project management, consulting, time management, how to participate effectively as a member of a diverse team, and presentation skills. As part of the curriculum, students also gain experience applying and validating skills through real-world projects with industry clients.
The program is designed to meet and exceed the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) framework - providing a direct path to both the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designations.
Graduates possess a blend of applied business skills to function as flexible and versatile human resource generalists with the strategic outlook to move into supervisory or managerial roles within either small, medium, or large-sized businesses.

Postings are accepted beginning four months before the start of a term until all students have secured employment provided the minimum 12 consecutive weeks of full-time work is met.

Conestoga College collects data on hourly wages of co-operative education students and offers suggested ranges as a service to employers for the purpose of establishing fair and competitive compensation.
Our experience has been that employers increase wages as skills increase, particularly when employing students for more advanced work terms. The Co-operative Education Office can provide assistance to employers in establishing appropriate wage rates.
Work term capabilities
- Plan and evaluate employee recruitment, selection, and retention strategies and processes
- Plan, implement and administer a performance management program, through a thorough examination of organizational plans and goals
- Develop an ROI strategy for employee development programs, such as onboarding, orientation, and training that aligns with organizational strategic objectives
- Analyze and implement human resource management processes and labour relations strategies
- Design, develop, implement, administer, and communicate the compensation strategy in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and objectives
- Review, monitor, update, and evaluate OHS policies and practices to ensure the health and safety of employees in the workplace and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Code
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate data to stakeholders, using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and relevant technologies
- Examine current organizational culture to effectively support adaptation strategies to a variety of planned and unplanned organizational changes
- Develop, evaluate, and communicate information related to human resource management functions that is regular, relevant, and timely
- Manage the HR strategic process by supporting regular research, reviewing trends, and providing recommendations to evaluate HR practices
