Credential: 1-Year Ontario College Graduate CertificateThis one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program builds on prior education and concentrates on hands-on experiential practices and techniques commonly employed in modern IT management.
Students gain valuable skills and knowledge in systems (desktop and server), infrastructure services, cloud- and mobile-based technologies, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, as well as software development methodologies. Using case studies, students learn best practices of technology leadership, and develop the skills necessary to continually adapt to the ongoing changes that occur in the digital business environment. As well, a foundational knowledge in organizational behaviour, financial management and IT vendor relations is gained.
Graduates have a diverse set of skills making them well-prepared for leadership positions in areas such as information systems, information technology, applications, software development, and vendor relations.

Conestoga College facilitates recruitment on an ongoing basis - there are no hard deadlines. Typical time frames for work terms are listed below.
Postings are accepted beginning four months before the start of a term until all students have secured employment provided the minimum 12 consecutive weeks of full-time work is met.

Conestoga College collects data on hourly wages of co-operative education students and offers suggested ranges as a service to employers for the purpose of establishing fair and competitive compensation.
Our experience has been that employers increase wages as skills increase, particularly when employing students for more advanced work terms. The Co-operative Education Office can provide assistance to employers in establishing appropriate wage rates.
Work term capabilities
- Support agile development of software development projects by filling the role of scrum master, product owner or developer
- Liaise with vendors, team members and other stakeholders on projects, contracts and mutually beneficial business relationships
- Research and propose database solutions for organizational systems and digital products
- Design, develop and implement integrated dynamic web applications to meet the business requirements of an organization
- Participate in project management of software development projects by preparing documents, using PM tools, and liaising with team members
- Research and propose architectural, platform and deployment solutions for organizational systems and digital products
- Assist a manager or software development lead in planning functions by preparing and distributing documents to solicit input from team members and providing training and support
