Program description - January 2026

Prepare yourself for an exciting career as a professional helicopter pilot with our one-year, three-term Commercial Helicopter Operations program. The current unprecedented demand and projected growth in the aviation industry offer numerous opportunities to excel post-graduation. This program allows you to enter the industry quickly with the necessary skills to be successful. Students enrolled in this program will have the option to complete groundschool and flight training concurrently with Great Lakes Helicopter, qualifying them to apply for a Canadian Commercial Pilot License - Helicopter.

Tuition & fees

Listed below are the tuition and fee details for the 2025-2026 academic year (September 2025 to August 2026) for your selected intake. Books and supplies may be additional.

Please note:

  • Great Lakes Helicopter flight training fees are in addition to Conestoga College tuition fees.
  • Great Lakes Helicopter fees total approximately $95,850, plus tax, payable over one year and are not OSAP-eligible.
  • Quote includes all ground and flight hours, personal headset, and Transport Canada testing fees.
  • Fees are based on an average student completing 100 hours of flight time to achieve a Canadian Commercial Helicopter Pilot License - Robinson R44 helicopter.
  • Fees are subject to change and may increase depending on aircraft type or number of hours to complete licencing.

Financial assistance

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a needs-based program designed to help eligible Ontario students cover the cost of post-secondary education. Funded by the federal and provincial governments, OSAP is intended to promote equality of opportunity for post-secondary studies through direct financial assistance (grants and loans) for educational costs and living expenses.
