Program description - October 2025

This two-week, cost free, program will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn about the residential construction sector (carpentry, drywalling, and flooring installations). You will spend one week in the shop, learning key concepts, how to safely use tools and equipment, while developing your hands-on skills as you complete basic projects. Also during this time you will be connected with a community of female mentors and you will learn about the different pathways into the skilled trades. In the second week, you will be with a certified safety trainer, earning various safety certifications (such as mandated Working At Heights). This will not only help you ensure a safe workplace for yourself and others, but will give you an advantage as employers have a strong hiring preference for applicants who are already certified in areas of safety. Apply now and take this first step to a well-paying, challenging and rewarding career!
