Program description - January 2026

Do like you working with tools and want to help build your community? Are you eager to gain the carpentry skills that are in demand in Ontario's booming construction industry? Do you want to learn how to do interior and exterior construction and finishing?

In this two-term program you will develop hands-on carpentry skills using hand and power tools while working on various projects. You will also gain knowledge to make you employment ready such as job site safety, how to read blueprints, estimation and industry standards.

As a graduate, you will have the skills to pursue a rewarding career in new residential and commercial construction. Plus, if you start the program in September 2025, or after, you may gain an exemption from level 1 in-school for 403A General Carpenter apprenticeship. Alternatively, you may have the option to continue and learn about renovation work, by entering directly into the second year of the Carpentry and Renovation Technician diploma program.

To learn more about building your career, please contact our Student Recruitment staff at trades@conestogac.on.ca.
