Program description - January 2026

Would you like a career ensuring people are not only comfortable, but safe, with access to clean air? Does the idea of working in all types of buildings from homes to hospitals to supermarkets appeal to you? Would you like an exciting career in a field that is constantly evolving with an increasing focus on green technologies? If so, then the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program is right for you. This program provides extensive theory and hands-on training preparing you for a variety of opportunities in heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning fields. You will learn hands-on skills in the large, fully equipped, dedicated HRAC shop, in Conestoga's new Skills Trades Centre. In addition, you will gain foundational skills in natural gas, and electrical systems. Also you may achieve the opportunity to write the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) G3 and G2 Gas Technician exams, and as a graduate you may be exempt from level 1 of 313A and 313D trade school. All this will ensure that when you graduate you will be in an excellent position to secure employment and an apprenticeship. Come join us in Conestoga's new state-of-the-art campus and take that first step to an incredible career!
