There is currently a nationwide shortage of Medical Laboratory Technologists in Canada, making job opportunities favourable for prospective graduates. Most Medical Laboratory Technologists find work in hospitals or private labs; however, others may gain employment as research assistants, public health/infection control supports, quality assurance technicians, and beyond.

This program has been granted admitted status through EQual™ (Accreditation Canada's specialized health education accreditation program). Admitted status indicates that the program is currently undergoing the accreditation process but has not yet been fully accredited.
Students are expected to successfully complete the MLS program within six years of admission.
