Program description - September 2026

Do you enjoy working on or being around cars? Our one-year Motive Power Fundamentals - Automotive Repair certificate program will kickstart your career as an automotive service technician and provide you with Level 1 apprenticeship training.

With a focus on hands-on training, Conestoga graduates are well-positioned to enter the automotive field and begin a successful career working in the trade. Throughout the program, you will develop a strong foundation of technical skills needed in the industry. You will practice safe working procedures for using tools, machinery, and equipment in 20,000 square feet of combined shop space. To round out your training, you will be introduced to fundamental business and career applicable concepts.

As a successful graduate of this program, you may have an opportunity to receive an exemption from the Level 1 portion of the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship in-school training.
