Computer Systems Fundamentals

Description: Participants of this course will gain a fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and related theory, gaining skills to identify how computers work and differentiate various hardware devices, and understand how hardware and software work together. Computer Operations and Troubleshooting

Description: This course focuses on providing students with fundamental operations and troubleshooting skills using the Windows operating system in a Desktop environment and the Linux operating system. Virtualization/Cloud technologies will be introduced as part of the hands on practice during this course. Key concepts in computer operating systems, troubleshooting, and deployment will be discussed. This course will also develop customer communication for the IT technician for successful IT work with clients and other stakeholders. Concepts of operating system and application security are also introduced.

Infrastructure Services Administration

This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of managing network infrastructure services in a business environment. Students will learn how to set up and maintain essential services such as domain name systems (DNS), dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), file sharing, and user account management.Through practical exercises, students will gain experience configuring network services, troubleshooting common issues, and following best practices for system administration. Description: Administering Windows Server based systems is a key skill required in IT operations. In this course, students will gain fundamental knowledge and skills required to effectively manage Windows Server operating systems. Students will create user accounts, learn and practice correct use of access controls, permissions and policies.
