Program description - January 2026

As the pace of global change accelerates, the need for financial professionals to remain at the forefront of business decision making will become ever more important. With a CPA designation, you will develop integrated competencies to thrive in this business environment where expectations continue to progress in a multitude of directions.

If you are a motivated individual looking for an exciting career in accounting, this program is for you. This program prepares you to pursue a professional accounting career leading to the attainment of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.

This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program will provide you with skills to develop an in-depth understanding of financial statement preparation, financial reporting, managerial accounting, and corporate finance. You will develop skills in critical thinking, managing complex scenarios, and fulfilling statutory requirements. Through case studies, group projects, and interactive online content, you will develop the skills needed to analyze complex scenarios, interpret them, and prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting frameworks. You will be taught by faculty members with industry experience, many of whom hold CPA designation. Flexible delivery will allow you to balance your professional commitments with the academic commitments arising out of this program.

This program is recognized by CPA Ontario. Graduates will be eligible to enter the Professional Education Program (PEP) phase of the CPA pathway, provided they meet the criteria set up by CPA Ontario. Following the PEP phase, you have the option to complete the remainder of the program with CPA Ontario (Capstone I and II) and then write the Common Final Exam (CFE).
