Power a sustainable future with Conestoga's Renewable Energy Techniques program.
Are you passionate about clean energy and want to be part of the green revolution? Conestoga's Renewable Energy Techniques one-year certificate program is designed for high school graduates who want to launch a career in the fast-growing field of renewable energy and sustainable technologies. This hands-on program gives you the skills to design, install, and maintain solar, wind and other alternative energy systems.
The program is centered around four key themes: renewable power generation, energy storage and management, sustainable building practices, and electrical systems and safety. You'll gain practical experience using industry-standard tools and cutting-edge technologies, from solar panels to battery storage and energy modeling. Graduates are prepared to support the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
What you'll learn
- Installation and maintenance of solar (PV and thermal), wind, hydro and biofuel systems
- Battery storage technologies, including lead-acid and lithium-ion systems
- Energy modelling, grid integration and system optimization
- Green building practices, LEED standards and sustainable construction
- Electrical safety, diagnostics and system grounding fundamentals

The tuition and fee details for the 2026-2027 academic year (September 2026 to August 2027) are provided below for your selected intake. Please note that fees for the 2027-2028 academic year (September 2027 to August 2028) will be released in Spring 2027. Students continuing their studies into the 2027-2028 academic year should review the updated fee details when they become available. Additional costs for books and supplies may apply. All fees are subject to change and are reassessed annually.
